Making Space for Creativity

May 26, 2021

I'm tired.

Tired of letting my life revolve around work. Tired of always feeling like I need to make more money. Tired of society's confidence that this is the only way to live.

What if I could live a life filled with creativity, passionate pursuits, curious tinkering, and exploration? What if I only worked 2 or 3 days a week, just enough to cover my bills and set a little money aside for the future?

What if I spent 4 to 5 days each week working on creative projects and my own products and business ideas? With this much focus, surely I'd be able to produce enough value for others to enable additional income? Perhaps even enough to replace my income entirely at some point.

Why wouldn't I arrange my life in this way? Why wouldn't I make space for creativity? Why shouldn't I live my life pursuing the things that spark my curiosity and excitement?

Would any amount of annual income replace the void I feel when I spend all of my days working for others? The answer is a resounding No.

Optimize for a creative life. Optimize for a healthy life. The rest will follow.
