Learning to Maintain My Motorcycle

I worked on the bike this weekend

I did an oil change and thoroughly cleaned the brake calipers, brake pistons, brake pads, etc. They were filthy and have probably never been properly cleaned before.

Working on my motorcycle is generally quite a relaxing and rewarding experience. It feels good when I increase my understanding of how various parts work, what they require, and how to look after them.

I've had this bike since 2015 and have just recently started learning how to properly care for it. Better late than never, I suppose!

I'll be adding crash bars, bark busters, and a radiator guard soon to add to its off-road capability.

The chain is also due for a serious cleaning. I neglected it for so many years, so even though I've cleaned and lubed it more frequently lately it has a very tough buildup that needs to be scrubbed off somehow.
