Hello and welcome!

My name is Luke Peters. I'm a motorcyclist, web developer, and life-long tinkerer living in New Hampshire.

I share my experiences learning motorcycle maintenance as well as photos and short write-ups from my motorcycle road trips.

As someone with too many hobbies, I also post about 3D printing, home renovation, product design, photography, electronics, and more.

My motorcycle maintenance journey

I've owned my current motorcycle (a 2015 BMW F700GS) since 2015 but only started truly caring for it and learning how to maintain it properly in 2024.

Sure, I gave it the odd wash and cleaned and lubed the chain occasionally. And I took it into the dealership once a year for maintenance. But I never did anything else myself and was honestly completely ignorant to the state of my bike at any given moment as well as how it works and what it needs.

So in the last year or so I've started teaching myself how to take care of this machine. And it's been an incredibly rewarding and enlightening journey.

Some of the maintenance items I've learned so far

  • Changing my engine oil and oil filter
  • Changing and cleaning my air filter
  • Deep cleaning my brake calipers, pistons, and pads
  • Changing my brake fluid
  • Replacing my steering head bearings and races
  • Changing my tires and balancing the wheels
